Jellyfish Dress

This dress is inspired by the Kutubaru Kebaya, one if the traditional blouses often worn by Javanese women.  I changed the typical kutubaru (on the front, it is the middle panel that connects the 2 sides of the blouse) into a draping sash, more like a “kemben” made of handdrawn batik with fish motifs. And I made the entire look into a dress, and added little embroideries of colorful jellyfish.
