Pala Dress

Pala (the Indonesian word for nutmeg) most probably originated in Indonesia from the southern Moluccan islands, especially Ambon and Banda. Sold whole or grounded to be used for cooking, and its essential oils contain bactericidal, fungicidal and insecticidal activities, which was why it was used by Europeans to preserve food.

This bohemian style button-down dress is hand embroidered with the pala tree motif. Low-cut tie collar, elastic waist and sleeves. Must be worn with a tank top (or a batik bikini like in this photo). It can be worn with the Batik Palazzo Pants underneath (optional).
