Batik Gedog Cuken Warna Alam
Batik Gedog is unique to an area called Tuban in East Java. Different to regular batik which is done on factory made fabric such as cotton, silk, etc., this type of batik is done on handspun and handwoven cotton which grows locally in Tuban. In other words, from plant, fiber, textile, all the way to batik drawing and coloring is done 100% locally and handmade. And due to the hand-spinning and the simplicity of its process, the threads are uneven giving it a beautiful rough slub texture similar to linen.
