This dress is inspired by the Kutubaru Kebaya, one if the traditional blouses often worn by Javanese women.I changed the typical kutubaru (on the front, it is the middle panel that connects the 2 sides of the blouse) into a draping sash, more like a “kemben” made of handdrawn batik with fish motifs. And I made the entire look into a dress, and added little embroideries of colorful jellyfish.
